Birth - Two Years Old

Any book you enjoy reading with your little one is a good book to share with him or her.  More specifically, books good for babies to two year olds are simple ones that include high-contrast black and white, pictures of babies, and/or have none to a few words per page.  Books with repetitious phrases and rhyming are also good.

Two - Four Years

Children at this age enjoy books with rhymes, refrains, sound effects and repetition.  Books that include concepts such as colors and opposites are good, as are ones that help with feelings.  Books with only a few words per page are great because your child can memorize them.  But, as when your child was younger, any book you enjoy reading with him or her is a good book to read!

No, David! by David Shannon (E Sha)

Cat the Cat Who is That? by Mo Willems (E Wil)
